The inspiration for the story was a friend of my grandmother's. She was a mother who quit her job to become a stay-at-home mom for her family. As she entered middle age, looking for some changes, she realized she could not concentrate on her work and had difficulty getting along with her colleagues.

 

After researching, I found that this phenomenon is widespread among homemaker in China. It inspired me to create this comic. The story's main character left the workplace after marriage to take care of her family but was subsequently ignored and not understood by her family. When she finds the courage to re-enter society, the outside world becomes a stifling, strange place for her. She escaped, and her inner desire for freedom died as well. As a young woman, I felt uneasy about the status of traditional homemakers in Chinese society and wary of leaving the world behind. In a time when everyone else is moving forward, it is difficult to return to the world if you are stagnant.
